• Promotion is based on whole year’s performance. The entire academic year is divided into two Terms for 100 marks each.

            • Periodic Test : Periodic Written test will be conducted, restricted to three in each subject in an Academic Year. Average of the best two tests would be taken for final marks submission
            • Note book Submission : This will cover: * Regularity, * Assignment Completion, * Neatness & upkeep of notebook
          • Subject Enrichment Activities: These are subject-specific activities aimed at enhancing the understanding and skills of the students. These activities are to be carried out throughout the term, however, they should be evaluated at the term -end. These will cover:
            Language Speaking and listening Skills
            Science Practical Lab Work
            Mathematics Maths Lab Practical
            Social Science Map Work and Project Work
          • Co-Scholastic Activities(Classes : VI to VIII: For the holistic development of the students, co-curricular activities would be carried out by the teachers and will be grade on a 3- point grading scale (A =Outstanding, B=Very Good & C=Fair). The aspect of regularity, sincere participation, output and teamwork be the generic criteria for grading in the following co-scholastic activities.

      By the concerned Teacher Work Education is a distinct curricular area for students for participation in social, economic and welfare activities. Student gets as sense of community service and develops self-reliance. (for Pre-Vocational Education as per Scheme of studies).
      Art Education By the concerned Teacher Art Education constitutes an important area of curricular activity for development of wholesome personality of the students. Students will select one or more forms of creative arts.
      Health & Physical Education (Sports/ Martial Arts/ Yoga/ NCC, etc. By the Physical Education Teacher Health and Physical Activity, preferably sports will be given regular period. Students will be provided opportunities to get professionally trained in the area of their interest. Indigenous sports, yoga and NCC will be encouraged in the schools creating a sense of physical fitness, discipline, sportsmanship, patriotism, self  sacrifice and health care.
        • Discipline (Attendance, Sincerity, Behaviour, Values): Discipline significantly impacts career shaping and it helps to build character.
        • Answer scripts of the 1st Terminal Examination (for Classes : I to VIII) and 1st & 2nd Terminal Examination (for Classes: IX to XII) will be shown to the students and parents only during Parents-Teachers meeting. Answer scripts of Final Exam will not be shown and the papers will be checked by the Principal only.
        • Surprise tests will be conducted at any time throughout the year. Hence, no one should go out of Port Blair during the school term.
        • A student who misses the Unit Test will not appear at later date. No students will be allowed to leave the school after answering the test on the pretext of illness or other reasons; else the test will not be valid.
        • Parents/guardians are requested not to send their children to school when
          they are ill or recovering illness.
        • A minimum attendance of 80% will be required for promotion.
        • In order to be promoted to a higher class, students should secure minimum 35% marks.
        • Students may not be permitted to appear to the Board Exams if they fail to secure at least 40% mark in the preliminary assessment.
        • The students may also be refused candidature for Board Exams, if they have not attended class for minimum 80% of the working days.
        • A student failing continuously for two years in the same class shall not be permitted to repeat the class and admission shall stand terminated.
        • Absence from the exams, except on medical or compassionate grounds and as approved by the School Authorities, will not be condoned.
        • Monthly tests would be conducted regularly every month and the test copies would be sent for the signature of the parents/guardians.
      • Besides the above, regular class test will include neatness of work and books, doing of daily lesson in class and at home, submission of work on time for correction, application to study and project work, etc.
      • The Examinees are not expected to indulge in any of the following acts:
        • Breach of any of the regulations of conduct at examinations or indiscipline in or outside examination room. A student guilty of disorderly conduct or responsible for causing any kind of disturbance in or near examination room is liable to be refused admission to subsequent papers.
        • Use of unfair means, even if discovered subsequently, will merit the cancellation of the particular paper and the student concerned will be given zero. A student who has recourse to pre-meditated cheating will be given Transfer Certificate at the end of the year.
      • No due clearance statement given in the Students’ Task Book has to be got signed from the respective departments before the Term-I.
      • In matters of promotion the decision of the Principal is final. Result will not be reconsidered.
